Mamù Cookware

For over 70 years guided by passion, design and innovation Made in Italy

Mamù was born from the experience gained over 70 years of producing aluminum pans and pots. The first generation of the Mugnano family entered the world of cookware in 1950. In the 1960s, Mario Mugnano , still very young, took his first steps working in his father's factory, learning the secrets of the process.

After years of passion and dedication, Mario Mugnano brought his vision to life , creating his first company producing nonstick aluminum cookware with his sons. This same passion led his sons to work side by side with him.

The nonstick oval casserole dish is designed for elongated foods: whole fish, meat rolls, long chicken legs, and cuts of meat that won't fit in a round casserole dish without being bent. The oval shape follows the shape of the food, reducing the empty space inside and ensuring more even cooking across the entire surface. Mamù produces it in PFOA-free nonstick aluminum. Made in Italy.

What to use the oval casserole dish for

The oval casserole dish was created to solve a real problem in the kitchen: many foods have an elongated shape that doesn't fit in a round casserole dish. A 500g whole sea bass hardly fits in a round casserole dish without being bent, and that bend affects the cooking process. A 30 cm meat roll fits easily into the oval pan, maintaining its shape throughout the cooking process.

  • Whole fish baked or stewed: sea bass, sea bream, bass, and trout fit whole without being folded.
  • Meat rolls: beef, veal, and stuffed chicken rolled up; the oval shape accompanies the roll throughout the cooking process.
  • Chicken legs and long cuts: more stable in the oval pan than in a round pan where they slide off the edges.
  • Stews with whole cuts: osso buco, ribs, cuts that maintain their shape during slow cooking.

PFOA-free scratch-resistant coating

The PFOA-free scratch-resistant coating prevents Fish and meat may stick to the bottom of the pan during stewing, even in the final stages when the liquid has reduced. Stewing is the type of cooking that puts the bottom of the pan most at risk. With the nonstick coating, whole fish can be removed from the pan without breaking, and cleanup is quick.

How to use the oval casserole dish

The oval casserole dish works both on the stovetop and in the oven. On the stovetop, use it for low-heat stewing: fish with vegetables, chicken in sauce, pork with onions. In the oven, it's the perfect tool for roasts that require slow cooking with the cooking juices. The oval shape keeps the food in its own bottom without dispersing flavors into the empty space at the sides.
