Why the hamburger pan is different from the grill pan

The grill pan has raised edges and a large surface designed for cooking multiple pieces at once. The hamburger pan has a more compact shape, a flat or lightly ridged bottom: cook one or two burgers at a time; the slightly raised edges retain juices and prevent grease from splashing onto the stovetop. The base distributes heat evenly across the entire surface, so the burger cooks evenly from the outside in.

Three sizes for every serving

The Mamù burger maker is available in three sizes:

• The smallest size is for compact burgers of 100-120g, for 1-2 people
• The medium size covers the standard burger size of 150-180g, the most used in Italian recipes
• The large size is for American burgers of 200g and above, or for cooking two burgers at once

How to cook the perfect burger

The secret to the burger is the temperature of the pan: it must already be very hot before placing the meat in it. Heat the burger pan over medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes, then place the oil-free burger patty on the nonstick coating. Don't press down with the spatula while cooking: the pressure will expel the juices and dry out the meat. Flip only once, when the bottom is golden brown. With the scratch-resistant, PFOA-free coating, the burger will release automatically when ready, without tearing.

Nonstick burger pan: lighter than its cast iron counterpart

Cast iron burger pans are heavy and slow to heat. The Mamù nonstick aluminum burger pan heats up in seconds, weighs much less, and can be cleaned immediately after use. Residual grease won't stick: just hot water and a sponge are enough, without soaking or using abrasive tools.
