Painting
At this stage, the raw aluminum disc is prepared and enhanced through a sophisticated 7-layer painting process on both sides. This advanced technology ensures maximum adhesion of the coating and allows for the creation of high-quality finishes, from glossy black to a textured stone effect.

Molding
The painted discs are transferred to the stamping department where, using high-precision automated presses, the metal is cold-molded. This process transforms the flat disc into the three-dimensional body of the pot, simultaneously defining its structure and the design of the base.

The non-stick star mold is a star-shaped cake mold: the angular tips of the rays give the cakes a bold geometric profile, suitable for Christmas desserts, themed birthday cakes, and any occasion where you want to serve a dessert that stands out from the standard round shape. With the scratch-resistant, PFOA-free 7-layer coating, the star's tips come out cleanly without breaking. Mamù produces it in aluminum. Made in Italy.
The star mold: the challenge of the tips
The star shape is technically the most difficult to unmold among the decorative molds: the pointed tips are the points where the dough tends to stick the most and break during unmold. With an insufficient or worn nonstick coating, the tips remain stuck to the mold, and the geometric shape that is the main characteristic of the cake is lost.
The scratch-resistant, 7-layer, PFOA-free coating of the Mamù star mold is designed to handle even these difficult geometries: the seven layers ensure uniform release across the entire internal surface, including the sharp tips where the dough is thinnest.

The Star as a Ready-Made Decoration
Like all Mamù decorative molds, the star mold incorporates the decoration into the shape: no decorating skills or piping bag required. A dusting of powdered sugar on the tips, or a glaze poured into the center and spread over the spokes, and the cake already has the look of an elaborate dessert. The shape does the aesthetic work. The cook focuses on the dough.
Size and care
The Mamù star mold is available in the standard size for the most commonly used star in recipes, starting at €7.50. Wash with hot water and a soft sponge. Avoid abrasive sponges on the tips where the coating is thinner. Do not wash in the dishwasher.
