Mamù Cookware
For over 50 years guided by passion, design and innovation Made in Italy
Mamù was born from the experience gained over 50 years of producing aluminum pans and pots. The first generation of the Mugnano family entered the world of cookware in 1970. In the 1960s, Mario Mugnano , still very young, took his first steps working in his father's factory, learning the secrets of the process.
After years of passion and dedication, Mario Mugnano brought his vision to life , creating his first company producing nonstick aluminum cookware with his sons. This same passion led his sons to work side by side with him.
The Cotture Speciali Mamù line is the pot with the integrated double pasta drainer system: cook two different dishes on the same burner, simultaneously, with half the dirty pots. Body in heavy-duty aluminum, stainless steel baskets, tempered glass lid with vent. Made in Italy.
The double-basket pot: how it works
A single pot with two separate removable baskets that cook in the same water. One burner, two dishes ready at the same time, half the pots to wash.
The practical possibilities are many. Boil long pasta in one basket and short pasta in the other for those with different tastes in the family. Steam different vegetables in two baskets, maintaining distinct flavors. Prepare fried foods in separate portions. Cook pasta in one basket and vegetables in the other, then drain everything in one motion by lifting the basket, without spilling the boiling water. An open flame saves time, simplifying everyday cooking.
Materials: aluminum, stainless steel, and tempered glass
The pot from the Cotture Speciali line is constructed from three different materials, each chosen for its function:
- Heavy-gauge aluminum body: heat is distributed evenly from the bottom to the sides, without hot spots that would burn the food in the baskets. The thicker material consumes less energy: once boiling, maintain a simmer over low heat.
- High-strength stainless steel baskets: sturdy, durable, won't warp, rust, or absorb odors. They withstand continuous daily use without losing their shape.
- Tempered glass lid with vent: see when the water is boiling and when the food is ready without lifting the lid, avoiding the loss of heat every time you check. The vent regulates the internal steam pressure, the lid stays in place, and the water doesn't leak out.
When you need the Special Cooking line
The Special Cooking line responds to the specific needs of contemporary Italian cuisine:
- Families with different tastes: short pasta for children and long pasta for adults, or different diets in the same family, all at the same time.
- Cooking on a single burner: fewer pots to heat, fewer burners used, less water to throw away. Every step is shorter.
- Small spaces: a single burner for two preparations, leaving the hob free for other things.
- Large quantities of pasta: lift the basket and drain without spilling the boiling water. Safer with children nearby

The Cotture Speciali pot is made in Italy with the same standards as all Mamù products. From the thick-walled aluminum body to the stainless steel baskets and tempered glass lid, the process is entirely Made in Italy. A tool that maintains its performance after years of daily use.

Painting
At this stage, the raw aluminum disc is prepared and enhanced through a sophisticated 7-layer painting process on both sides. This advanced technology ensures maximum adhesion of the coating and allows for the creation of high-quality finishes, from glossy black to a textured stone effect.
- Surface pretreatment for perfect anchoring
- High-resistance 7-phase painting cycle
- Special finishes and stone effect
Molding
The painted discs are transferred to the stamping department where, using high-precision automated presses, the metal is cold-molded. This process transforms the flat disc into the three-dimensional body of the pot, simultaneously defining its structure and the design of the base.
- Mechanical transformation from disc to pot body
- Impression of the technical drawing on the bottom
- Fully automated pressing process
