Mamù Cookware
For over 50 years guided by passion, design and innovation Made in Italy
Mamù was born from the experience gained over 50 years of producing aluminum pans and pots. The first generation of the Mugnano family entered the world of cookware in 1970. In the 1960s, Mario Mugnano , still very young, took his first steps working in his father's factory, learning the secrets of the process.
After years of passion and dedication, Mario Mugnano brought his vision to life , creating his first company producing nonstick aluminum cookware with his sons. This same passion led his sons to work side by side with him.
The Happy White Aluminum line by Mamù includes pots, pans, saucepans, roasting pans, and casserole dishes made of white aluminum: untreated aluminum with a nonstick coating, in the traditional white finish of Italian cookware. Those who prefer classic aluminum will find the complete range here: extremely lightweight, an excellent heat conductor, and durable. Made in Italy.
White Aluminum: The Tradition of Italian Cuisine
White aluminum is the historic material of Italian cookware: lightweight, economical, and an excellent heat conductor. It heats up quickly and distributes heat evenly across the entire surface. Before nonstick coatings, all Italian cookware was made of white aluminum. Many Italian kitchens continue to use it for specific preparations where traditional aluminum yields better results.
The white finish of untreated aluminum has different characteristics than nonstick: the pan heats up faster, the heat is distributed evenly across the entire surface, including the edges, and the pure aluminum structure is lighter than multilayer-coated versions.
Products in the Happy White Aluminum line
- White aluminum sauté pan: available in several sizes, with an iron handle. Lighter than nonstick versions, it heats up quickly. For stirring pasta over high heat.
- White aluminum saucepan: large, with an iron handle, available in many sizes. For frying, braising, and preparations requiring a wide, shallow saucepan.
- White aluminum saucepan with two handles.: for soups, broths, and legumes. Lighter and heats up faster than steel versions.
- White aluminum roasting pan.: the large pan for roasts, baked pasta, and large dishes. The high edge retains liquids and maintains heat during cooking.
- White aluminum baking pans and molds: the pastiera pan, the tart pan, the tall pan, and the Neapolitan pastiera pans, all in the white aluminum version, which is the original shape of these molds.
- White aluminum conical cake pan: the traditional conical mold for cakes that are turned upside down.
- White aluminum mold with and without a hole: for donuts, babas, and cakes with a central hole.
- White aluminum lid: the matching aluminum lids for the pots and casseroles in the line.
- White aluminum boiler: the large boiler for preserving, sterilizing jars, and baking. Cooking in large quantities
White aluminum vs. nonstick: when to choose which
White aluminum is preferable when:
- The preparation requires cooking over very high heat, where a nonstick coating could deteriorate
- You're cooking large quantities for many people, and the lightness of the pan is important
- Tradition is preferred: Neapolitan pastiera in white aluminum pans, polenta in an aluminum boiler, sauce in an aluminum casserole dish
- Price is a factor — white aluminum versions are cheaper than nonstick versions
Caring for white aluminum
White aluminum does not have a nonstick coating to protect: it can be washed with normal sponges, degreasers, and even in the dishwasher, although washing Hand-grinding retains its shine better. With use, white aluminum develops a natural patina that improves its nonstick properties over time. Italian grandmothers call this patina the pan's "seasoning."

Painting
At this stage, the raw aluminum disc is prepared and enhanced through a sophisticated 7-layer painting process on both sides. This advanced technology ensures maximum adhesion of the coating and allows for the creation of high-quality finishes, from glossy black to a textured stone effect.
- Surface pretreatment for perfect anchoring
- High-resistance 7-phase painting cycle
- Special finishes and stone effect
Molding
The painted discs are transferred to the stamping department where, using high-precision automated presses, the metal is cold-molded. This process transforms the flat disc into the three-dimensional body of the pot, simultaneously defining its structure and the design of the base.
- Mechanical transformation from disc to pot body
- Impression of the technical drawing on the bottom
- Fully automated pressing process
